EMPLOYMENT

Newfoundland and Labrador’s forest sector is vital to the provincial economy.  Throughout history, residents have relied on the industry to be a source of consistent work.  Today, the sector directly employs more than 2200 people, indirectly over 5000, and continues to contribute significantly to the provincial economy, particularly in rural regions.
Today’s forestry workforce is highly skilled and in demand and the sector offers a variety of career paths for everyone.  Jobs can be found in the areas of mill operations, science and engineering, skilled trades, woodlands, transportation, and administration.  As technology advances and the current baby-boomer workforce retires, our member companies will be looking for skilled men and women to fill those roles.
If you’re looking for a rewarding career with a well-balanced lifestyle then the forest sector may be right for you.
